A personal collection can simply be the layers of charms on a single chain or bracelet, any way you wear it, alone or with many other necklaces or bracelets. This collection commemorates our life’s journey and has the deepest meaning. It is worn to remind and lives with any look because it is about all the little pieces that come together to represent something more intimate. Lighter bangles are perfect for collecting souvenirs of travel, celebrations or gifting to a collector. For more substantial collections, a classic heavier chain or clips are suitable to hold a significant group of charms and pendants.

Trending Now/What’s Hot for Fall

We’re seeing the fall trends taking shape, in fashion we are seeing bold color pallets, cozy furs and chunky knits and modernized vintage silhouettes. So - how does this translate into Waxing Poetic jewelry? For the bright color pop, add a colorful chain like the Answer Chains, a Foundation Stone or a Tiny Light to compliment your furs and chunky knits, we like layered necklaces of varying lengths and styles. We move sometimes quite quickly through summer, and then that ripe old guy August (picture him: a warm, wise elder) comes around again, with barely any notice, signaling the end of the season. What to do, dear friend August? We were having so much fun (we wink, dusting the sand off our feet)...

Take stock. The days are still long, and a little planning goes a long way to usher in a new season of possibilities. So, we appraise our resources, and potential. We understand what we have, and envision our future - what we want to live the life we’ve imagined. As a partner, friend, or parent, to give the most we can? This is good work.

The time is now, says dear old August. Take inventory, and fill your heart, mind and life with the things that are missing, the things you love that bring you joy, and the things you simply need more of. A new, wonderful season is upon us, and we are grateful in our preparation! Thank you August , for all your gifts (sand and surf and sun included), and for reminding
us to prepare for our highest potential in the season(s) ahead.

1. Love this sweet little note.2. This recipe by @localmilk for Blackberry + Peach Buttermilk Biscuit Cobbler (a la mode, of course!) looks too delicious for words. Her photos are always as breathtaking as her recipes. What a great way to use up the summer’s bounty, to be shared with a gathering of loved ones.3. One of our favorite designers, Piero Fornasetti. This wallpaper pattern in particular is a favorite. It adorned the walls of our original flagship store in Los Olivos, CA. as well as our showrooms and tradeshow booths.

Finding the Good

Really. Seek it. Its so easy to burry our heads, or say something negative, but taking a moment, to pause, think, consider, trust and be conscious in finding the good, can transform your life. Even if it seems in that present moment that there is nothing good to feel or say, trust that you will see it, if you open yourself up to take notice. Here is a quote we love and that helps us to remember…

A friend of mine posted this on Facebook (okay, not just a friend, but our lovely poet Brianna), and it really resonated with me. Yes, summer is a time for travel and new experiences, and I also realized how much discovery is a part of what we do at Waxing Poetic.

The unknown. The untapped. The undiscovered.

This is what we love so much about the process of building a Waxing Poetic necklace (or bracelet). It is about never having been there... and ending up with a new favorite. Something precious, something that takes time to know, and feel.

A discovery to experience, to keep or to share.

We are each on our own beautiful journey, and we are so very thankful to be sharing (and celebrating) ours with you.
