Ella’s Poetic Style
“Waxing Poetic gifts come from people you love, people who know you, people who want to give you something individual and special that you will cherish forever.”
Ella Walker (“the Eldest of three”, as she so eloquently stated) is a young woman living in the city and finding the balance of work life and making time for her sisters, family, friends, pup Caddy, and all the wonderfulness life has to offer. Here she talks about what she loves about Waxing Poetic, and what it feels like to receive waxing poetic as a gift.
When we interviewed each sister, we asked them the same 5 questions.
Here are Ella’s answers.
1. What would you call your personal style?
i.e. Preppy, Bohemian, Glam etc.
I can’t really generalize my style because its constantly changing, and I feel like by calling it something other then “Ella’s Style” I am trying too hard to fit into that category. So I guess “Ella’s Style” is current, comfortable, and strictly unique to me. Tamsyn tries to give me style advice, but I am rarely comfortable wearing what she suggests because that’s her style.
2. Who is your greatest style icon?
Blake Lively, I wish she was my best friend. I think we’d get along swimmingly.
3. If you were stranded on a desert island and could only have one thing with you, what would it be?
My dog, Harry Potter series, knitting supplies, and my audiobook collection. Its basically a vacation.
4. If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be?
David Attenborough, the gentleman who does the narration for every successful nature show ever.
5. What is your favorite quote or line of Poetry?
“Accendit cantu”latin for “rise up singing”

it’s very special which is the greatest thing about it.”

When we interviewed each sister, we asked them the same 5 questions.
Here are Georgie’s answers.
1. What would you call your personal style?
i.e. Preppy, Bohemian, Glam etc.
Somewhere between bohemian and relaxed classic… I like my tribal patterns, complicated styles and jewelry but my go to outfit is jeans and t-shirt.
2. Who is your greatest style icon?
I like what Olivia Wilde wears…
3. If you were stranded on a desert island and could only have one thing with you, what would it be?
A tub of peanut butter // V8 juice // a wide brimmed straw hat
4. If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be?
My great-great grandchild.
5. What is your favorite quote or line of Poetry?
“If you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” - Einstein

Tamsyn Walker’s take on Waxing Poetic
“When I receive a gift from Waxing Poetic,
the feeling is absolutely incredible.”
Tamsyn Walker, the youngest of 3 sisters, just graduated High School, is currently touring Europe, and here, talks about what she loves most about Waxing Poetic, her sense of style and a fun little Q&A.
When we interviewed each sister, we asked them the same 5 questions.
Here are Tamsyn’s answers.
1. What would you call your personal style?
i.e. Preppy, Bohemian, Glam etc.
I don't have a specific style. My clothes aren't retro, bohemian, preppy, or anything like that. I kinda just mix it all together. However, I would say that I lean to an edgier look trying out some more daring pieces every now and then.
2. Who is your greatest style icon?
There are so many great style icons, it is really hard to say. I have currently been obsessed with what Cara Delevinge has been wearing.
3. If you were stranded on a desert island and could only have one thing with you, what would it be?
I probably would want a satellite phone so I could call for help and get rescued. Not very whimsical but very practical!
4. If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be?
I would go to dinner with Cleopatra. I think she is an incredibly interesting historical figure that did a lot for a women in her era.
5. What is your favorite quote or line of Poetry?
One of my favorite quotes that has always stuck with me is, "Fear is stupid, so are regrets."- Marilyn Monroe

Dear Graduate:
IF you haven’t read this by now (or even IF you have), a wish for you…
If by Rudyard Kipling
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
A Sister Story: Pondering Graduation Gifts
Watch as the sisters share with you about the Waxing Poetic gifts they received for graduation!
Sisters Ella, Georgie and Tamsyn Walker each share the story of their individual journeys, and the personal style they cultivate through their Waxing Poetic collection. When the Walker sisters aren’t hanging out at their Santa Ynez Valley, California ranch, they are travelling the world, studying abroad, working in the city and getting ready to go off to college. This is a look into the lives of three sisters, with three very different personal styles and three big things in common: their authentic expression of giving, their zeal for life, and their tight loving bond with each other.
A NEW BEGINNING - Gifts for Grads
This is the time of year that we think of our graduates. And then, we think of words. Milestone comes to mind. Milestone is a funny term. By definition, a milestone is a marker for a distance traveled; a juncture point; a small object made to recall a big spectacle – not a stand-in as much as a stand-on-its-own-even-if-it-is-very-tiny; arguably a whole world in a little word – or in our case, a charm; a letter; a seal; a lavaliere.
We know that everything you do in life is just as much part of the big pieces as it is part of the in-betweens. We care as much for the momentary as we do for the monumental, and believe that sometimes (more often than not), they’re actually part of the same thing, if not the thing itself.
College. Learning How to Be an Adult. Adventure… It is a monumental time full of momentary memories, and a new beginning. Here are our favorite gift ideas for the beloved college graduates that are dear to our hearts.
