How to Combine

Joining charms to layer a look or build a story is sort of like curating your life as you would art (but on a slightly smaller scale). Brave and dreamy and breathtaking and no less than awe-inspiring.
CURATE YOUR LIFE

Assembling your story, or how to layer and build a look with Waxing Poetic charms, chains, and general loveliness...

Unless otherwise specified, all of our charms are mixable with any of our chains, which are legion (and lovely).

Our charms are designed to be combined together with chains or cords. We've assembled a suite of options: from featherweight, floaty links to heavier fare, uniform baby ball chains to unexpected moments of faceted stones or glimmery sections of chain dotted with pearls, and soft leather in single cords or braided lengths with metal detailing. There is something to suit nearly everyone (even people who've "sworn off jewelry"). Really. We've heard stories (some of which came from you). Yes. But how to wear them? This is a recurrent question.

There is always the simple (and entirely effective) method of pick up one charm, and one chain, marrying them together and wearing them alone, but this isn't the only option. Waxing Poetic pieces are made for sharing - not just as gifts, or heirlooms, or inside jokes, but also with each other. You can pile charms and initials on with reckless abandon and it works. Think of it as curating...salon-style, but around your neck rather than covering a wall.

One: there are no rules.
Two: ok, that's not quite true. There are some,

WAYS TO WEAR WAXING POETIC
  1. With zeal.
  2. With nostalgia.
  3. With glee.
  4. With hope.
  5. With good wishes.
  6. With abandon.
  7. With love...
  8. With joy.
  9. ...and always, bravely and with adventure!

Consider combining a group of single pieces...like a couple single pendants, each on their own chain - or stacks of mixed bracelets. Larger pendants can be mixed with charms but also look great alone, especially on a longer chain. Likewise, tiny charms work well on shorter chains and can also be worn several at a time. Conversely, each can dangle on their own chain, if not in groupings, on a single chain.

Icons express who we are. Design a custom look without fear. Create your own story by knowing yourself and what you love.
